2023 Benchworks Assessment and Impact Award for Housing Winner: University of Akron

University of Akron one of three 2023 winners of the Benchworks Assessment & Impact Award for Housing & Residence Life. They were recognized for significant improvement in survey scores related to diverse interactions. Akron's Residence Life and Housing department  has established new initiatives to bolster their DEI programming by shifting their internal culture and providing targeted training for residence assistants. Their efforts include DEI programming requirements each semester to ensure impactful conversations are had, an official RA training school that provides student staff with the knowledge and resources they need to be successful, and active participation and programming from their Residence Hall Program Board.
