Dr. Michael Oberlin earned a Ph.D in Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University. He has taught undergraduate and graduate psychology courses for several colleges and universities, including Northwestern Michigan College, University of Minnesota, and the University of St. Thomas. In addition to teaching courses via traditional lectures he has taken an active role in the development of online courses. He has been a content provider and consultant for Worth/Macmillan's online Psychology components for over fifteen years. This work has included working with the award winning group developing materials for Myers Introduction to Psychology and also the TLC Faculty Lounge. In addition to his teaching, he worked as a Human Factors Consultant for Honeywell. He conducted requirements analysis, conceptual design and prototyping of next generation process control systems. Several advanced technologies were evaluated during prototype development, including speech recognition and eye-controlled input. Michael has also worked as a Training and Human Factors Specialist for the Florida Naval Training Systems Center. He was responsible for the design development and support of naval simulators and trainers. This prestigious organization applied state of the art techniques in developing the huge variety of simulators and embedded trainers required to meet the Navy's immense training needs. When he's not teaching or writing, he and his wife are traveling the world, having been to over 100 countries.
