Student response systems like iClicker are a great tool for fostering engagement, collaboration, and inclusivity. There are so many great ways to use iClicker and a lot of helpful resources online for how to get started with iClicker.

With midterms just around the corner, I'm curious how all of you use iClicker to engage students and encourage practice during the second half of the semester. What are your favorite ways to use iClicker throughout the semester? What tips would you give an instructor getting started with iClicker between midterms and finals?

We may compile your responses into a blog post. If you would not like us to include your response, please make a note of that.

I used iClicker for the first time in the synchronous session in the Gen AI course, and I kind of like it, but I don't know how to get started with it. I suppose, since I'm taking the class, I could just ask Claude or Gemini to explain it. How would most of you who teach a course like composition, that is, where the subject under discussion is often generated by the students in the first place, use it?
