Spring has officially sprung, and with summer just around the corner, now’s as good a time as ever to start venturing outside. Celebrate Earth Month and Earth Day this year by showing your students just how exciting and ever changing the planet is.
With Scientific American Environmental Science for a Changing World, students will learn about recent and relevant environmental events across the globe and in their own backyard, grounding them in today’s world.
Each module takes students through a captivating story that exemplifies science concepts. Global Case Studies not only illustrate real world examples, but they also link to Global Case Study Quizzes in Achieve that provide maps and images combined with narrative and quiz questions.
The digital update includes new case studies on ecosystem-scale experiments in a Minnesota peatland, epidemics like Ebola, and promising air pollution research. Bring It Home boxes at the end of each module offer suggestions for ways students can make a difference individually or collectively.
The textbook roots itself in additional contemporary issues and content like global hunger, environmental health and infectious diseases, regenerative farming, lithium mining, and sustainable energy. Students will walk away with an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of a variety of environmental topics.
Detailed infographics about each module prompt student reflection of the material. Not to mention Assessments Questions in Achieve, which correlate to the engaging infographics and push students to critically think.
The End of Module Resources bring together the foundations of the chapter. Students will read about actions they can take to support the planet and deepen their understanding of its history and complexity. Revisit the Concepts boxes offer a clear summary of the material to ensure student comprehension.
Empower your students to make a difference this Earth Month and Earth Day with Scientific American Environmental Science for a Changing World, 4th Edition
