Israel Lazaro | Family Accomplishments Drive Me to Do More

My Journey to #AchieveMore
As a Mexican-American, I personally know how coming from a different country has exposed me to many cultures. My family moved to the U.S when I was eight. I was excited to experience a new way of living and I still love experiencing new things everyday. I find art exciting, and I dedicate myself to it to make it a hobby. Although there is a lot of competition in the art industry, it motivates me to make art which is unique and in my opinion, more expressive. Also, I enjoy the architectural styles, which are different throughout the world. I enjoy gathering the designs of architecture and try to make a different design that is unique as well. My brother, the oldest of our family of five, is soon to graduate college. His way of setting the tone here in the United States, along with his accomplishment has made me push myself even more. My passion for exercise too has taught me how to achieve in my goals. Experienced lifters have mentored me coupled with positive feedback from friends and family encourages me to continue through the tough times. It has taken a lot of dedication, determination, and concentration to achieve my physical goals, but each step has been a new chance to gain confidence in myself. I have learned to be confident in myself, to be patient for results, to push through the tough times and to focus on my goals. I will apply my hard-earned discipline to my school work and home life. This award would help me to achieve my goal of going to college, by helping to pay for expenses, while following in my brothers footsteps and staying motivated.
