The AP® US Government and Politics exam is coming up! Take a closer look at FRQ4, the argument question, with AP® U.S. Government expert Karen Waples. In this webinar, the aim is to empower you to help students construct an analytical claim/thesis, support it with evidence and reasoning, and write a refutation or rebuttal. We present examples from a previous exam, highlight common pitfalls, and discuss how to help students earn points on the exam. A Q&A section is also included for common questions we received during the live webinar.

While procedural due process has always been mentioned in the College Board CED, substantive due process was officially added in the 2023 revision. Join us as we examine the differences between procedural and substantive due process and delve further into the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments' roles in protecting liberties. Registrants will also receive a free-response question and a scoring guide to assess students' understanding of these concepts.

Teaching AP® U.S. Government is more challenging than ever—especially since the presidential election and its aftermath.
How can you encourage debates among opinionated students without losing your job (or your mind)? How can you ensure that all voices are heard? How can you engage students in current events without overstepping personal boundaries? During this webinar, BFW author Karen Waples will answer these questions and those submitted in advance. She will share tips and strategies to tackle controversial topics in your classroom with balance and respect.
