Please submit your proposals through this form no later than April 26, 2021.

Your proposal should be 250-350 words and should note whether this is an individual or group submission. Proposals will be blind reviewed by a committee of readers. Official invitations will be emailed by May 3 for accepted presentations, and you must confirm your intent to present by May 7, 2021. Please contact or if you have further questions.

Call for Proposals

In summer of 2020, we hosted our first ever Corequisite Composition Summer Camp to foster community for instructors teaching any form of composition with support. During this 3-day virtual professional learning event, instructors came together to explore practical tools, strategies, ideas, and solutions to use in face-to-face and remote corequisite classrooms. To see recordings and resources from the 2020 Camp, visit this website.

As we plan the second Corequisite Composition Summer Camp, we invite proposals for sessions that offer pedagogical strategies for teaching corequisite composition. To submit a proposal, you must be currently teaching composition with support or a corequisite composition course (this includes any and all scenarios in which struggling students receive additional, concurrent support for their Composition I curriculum).

Leading a session at Corequisite Composition Summer Camp is fun! As a session leader, you will deliver one brief presentation of about 15 minutes and then facilitate about 30 minutes of group discussion and workshopping (with support from Macmillan staff). You will need to ensure that the focus of your session is to provide participants with real strategies to take back to their own courses. Sessions should encourage discussion and hands-on activities. (Note: You will also be free to attend any other Camp sessions that interest you!)

Our intent is to offer a variety of topics so instructors with all kinds of interests, classroom situations, and modalities (asynchronous, hybrid, in-person, etc.) can find relevant sessions to attend. The topics listed below are broad because we know that part of a good presentation is passion, so we want you to have enough room to make it your own. You may submit a proposal for a session on topics such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Technological literacy and access
  • Engaging activities for virtual settings (asynchronous and/or synchronous)
  • Engaging activities for hybrid and/or in-person settings
  • Grading/Feedback
  • Group work
  • Integrating reading and writing
  • Non-cognitive issues
  • Non-native speakers
  • Teaching coreq online
  • Accessibility (ADA compliance)

You may also submit a proposal for a session that does not fall into one of the above categories.

We look forward to hearing from you! Please use this form to submit your proposal. Feel free to share this with anyone who might be interested. Contact or if you have further questions.
